   In this project, I embody and nararate the mythological stories i have been exploring and re-wrting through my sculptures. I bring together my background in Special and practical effects, with a newfound interest in performance,and storytelling to capture this short film.


هذا المشروع، أؤدي وأروي الحكايات الأسطورية التي كنت أستكشفها وأعيد كتابتها من خلال أعمالي النحتية. أدمج خلفيتي في المؤثرات الخاصة والتطبيقية مع اهتمامٍ جديد بالأداء والسرد، لتجسيد هذه التجربة في فيلم قصير.

Failaka  Myth   History    Layers

This project is a documentation of Jasem’s 24 hour research trip to Failaka. Jasem walked failaka for hours with a tripod, camera, and a curious intuition to lead the way for answers that would later inform the making of a short film. On his research trip he talked to strangers and spirits and stood in silence to survey the inhabitants that are now, and once were of the island.


هذا المشروع هو توثيق لرحلة بحثية امتدت 24 ساعة قام بها جاسم إلى جزيرة فيلكا. خلال هذه الرحلة، تجوّل جاسم في الجزيرة لساعات حاملاً ثلاثيّ القوائم وكاميرا، مدفوعًا بحدسٍ فضولي يقوده نحو إجابات ستشكّل لاحقًا أساس فيلم قصير.

خلال رحلته، تحدّث إلى غرباء وأرواح، وقضى لحظات صمتٍ يراقب فيها سكان الجزيرة، الحاضرين منهم والغائبين، ومن كانوا هنا في الماضي.
