Spill   Ripple    Surface   Study
Drawing on similar motifs from my artwork "Ripple from 1991", I'm thinking about how oral mythology and the necessity to instil fear has been affected by production of oil rigging happening both in the desert and sea. Exploring the dichotomy of both water and sand (the two geographical and tribal elements of Kuwait) as opposing elements, yet the sea being a point of intersection.

مستوحى من صور وأفكار في عملي أفكر في كيف تأثرت الأساطير الشفوية، وخاصة تلك التي تعتمد على الخوف كوسيلة للتوجيه أو الحماية، مع توسّع صناعة النفط في البحر والصحراء.

يستكشف العمل العلاقة بين الماء والرمل، وهما عنصران أساسيان في جغرافيا الكويت وهويتها الثقافية، رغم أنهما يبدوان متضادّين. ومع ذلك، يظل البحر مساحة يلتقي فيها هذان العالمان، حيث تتداخل الذاكرة والحكاية مع التحولات البيئية والاقتصادية.
